The 2024 CalvertHealth Foundation Benefit Golf Raises More Than $111,000

05/16/2024
The CalvertHealth Foundation held its 35th annual Benefit Golf Classic presented by Berkeley Research Group, LLC, CDI, an AHEAD Company, City National Bank and L2 Construction Management Corporation at The Cannon Club in Lothian on May 13. This year’s tournament had more than 170 participants including golfers, volunteers and Grapes on the Green attendees all supporting CalvertHealth to invest and grow its Digestive Diseases and Weight Management program. This tournament has become the region’s most successful tournament raising more than $111,000.

Proceeds from this year’s tournament will support CalvertHealth Medical Center to bring the best resources to our gastroenterologists and digestive health professionals. Within the last few months, CalvertHealth has brought to the community a new gastroenterologist, Dr. Hamna Fahad and a new bariatric surgeon Dr. Greg Dalencourt. They join Dr. Ramzi Alami who leads the hospital’s efforts to become a Bariatric Center for Excellence where this talented team of professionals, state-of-the-art equipment, and an efficient and safe workspace bring accessible care for one of the community’s greatest needs.

Since the inaugural Golf Benefit Classic in 1990, the event has raised more than $2.1 million to fund patient care equipment and vital hospital services at CalvertHealth Medical Center. Foundation Board Chair and Golf Committee Chairman Frank Smith from Idea Solutions said, “Without all of our amazing sponsors and golfers, the tournament could not be as successful as it is today! It is an honor to be a part of this amazing annual event that has continued to grow because of the dedication and generosity of local community members.”

President and CEO Jeremy Bradford said, “I’m overwhelmed by the generosity of supporters and donors who year after year continue to support our efforts to deliver exceptional care to our community. We are forever grateful.”
